Collect coins in a level to
completely fill the "True Hero"
or "True Villain" bar to get the
corresponding rank for that

Arkham bonus level
Get a "True Villain" rank on all
levels in the Villain storyline. To
reach the mission, go to right of
the Batcomputer. Go down the
ramp, and pull the lever to get
to the villains. Go through the
door on the right, and look in
the corner to reach the
memorabilia room. Climb the
ladder at the top to access the
Arkham level.
Wayne Manor bonus level
Get a "True Hero" rank on all
levels in the Hero storyline. To
reach the mission, go to where
the vehicles are in the Batcave.
Go to the far right, then down
to the bottom. Step on the
elevator to go to the
memorabilia room. The Wayne
Manor mission is in upper left
corner.

Easy Studs
Successfully complete a level
with The Joker. You should then
have him in the prison. Go to
the experiment room at the
prison. Start zapping the Joker
Henchmen that keep walking
into the room. Zap the villain
that follows you every so often.
Every time you zap the villain
that follows you, the Henchmen
will give an increasing number
of Studs after they are zapped
and killed.
Power Brick locations
Power Bricks can be found at
the following locations:
You Can Bank On Batman: The
Power Brick is hidden on the
left side of the cage that
Clayface stands on.
An Icy Reception: In the
building behind the catwalk
after you find the ice cream on
the floor, you must glide to the
Power Brick from where you
built the grappling grab spot.
You will also need to do it in
Free Play mode because you
need someone who has super
strength such as Clayface or Mr.
Freeze.
Two-Face Chase: The Power
Brick is hidden in the final
stage of the level where you
fight Two-Face. It is in the top
left corner of the park on the
left, behind some explosive
barrels.
Riddler Makes A Withdrawal:
Build a car out of the pieces of
the neon light on the side of
one of the buildings after you
come out of the elevator. Take
the car to the area where you
build the wrecking ball. In the
top right corner is a car
compacter. Roll the car in there,
then mind control the person to
pull the second lever. Note: This
must be done in Free Play
mode.
On The Rocks: In the first room
after you go inside, freeze all of
the ice cream floats, and go
across them. Do not mind
control the person and raise the
level. At the end of the floats is
an iron gate. Blow it open, and
go inside. Go up the ladder and
down to where the hanging bars
are located. Break the crates,
build the switch, cross the
bridge, and complete the glass
sculpture. Note: This must be
done in Free Play mode.
Green Fingers: In the room
where you first use your power
to grow plants, there is a ledge
above the big plant thing. There
are iron bars blocking the left
passage of this ledge. Blow it
open, and use Robin in the
Attract suit to build a truck
with a cake in the back. Bake
the cake, and the Power Brick
will appear. Note: This must be
done in Free Play mode.

Get a 100% completion to have
Lego Studs rain inside Barnett
College.
Hidden Star Wars character
locations
C3PO: Play the Raiders Of The
Lost Ark: The Lost Temple level.
Find the room that is sealed off
by metal Lego pieces. Use a
bazooka or grenade in Free Play
mode to reach him.
Chewbacca: Play the Raiders Of
The Lost Ark: City Of Danger
level. Reach the last area of the
mission where you change to a
guard and get through the
checkpoint where the truck is
stored. At the back of that area
is a hieroglyphic display. Have a
Scholar character complete the
puzzle. Go inside the newly
opened door to find the Mos
Eisley cantina. Chewbacca is
behind a fence, and can be
reached with a short character
such as the Maharaja or Short
Round.
Luke Skywalker: Play the
Raiders Of The Lost Ark: Into
The Mountains level. Search
inside the cave somewhere in
the mountains. Use a bazooka
or grenade in Free Play mode to
enter it.
Princess Leia: Play the Temple
Of Doom: Free The Slaves level.
Go to the second to last room.
Go near the machinery on the
far right-hand side of the room,
then walk toward the screen to
find the way down to her.
R2-D2: Play The Last Crusade:
Desert Ambush level. When you
start, go left, and climb up the
mountain to the gold chest.
Once you get the chest, follow
the ledge to the left. You should
see a brown whip point. Use
Indy's whip to pull down a tube
from a Sandcrawler. R2-D2 will
appear from it.

that follows you, the Henchmen
will give an increasing number
of Studs after they are zapped
and killed.
Power Brick locations
Power Bricks can be found at
the following locations:
You Can Bank On Batman: The
Power Brick is hidden on the
left side of the cage that
Clayface stands on.
An Icy Reception: In the
building behind the catwalk
after you find the ice cream on
the floor, you must glide to the
Power Brick from where you
built the grappling grab spot.
You will also need to do it in
Free Play mode because you
need someone who has super
strength such as Clayface or Mr.
Freeze.
Two-Face Chase: The Power
Brick is hidden in the final
stage of the level where you
fight Two-Face. It is in the top
left corner of the park on the
left, behind some explosive
barrels.
Riddler Makes A Withdrawal:
Build a car out of the pieces of
the neon light on the side of
one of the buildings after you
come out of the elevator. Take
the car to the area where you
build the wrecking ball. In the
top right corner is a car
compacter. Roll the car in there,
then mind control the person to
pull the second lever. Note: This
must be done in Free Play
mode.
On The Rocks: In the first room
after you go inside, freeze all of
the ice cream floats, and go
across them. Do not mind
control the person and raise the
level. At the end of the floats is
an iron gate. Blow it open, and
go inside. Go up the ladder and
down to where the hanging bars
are located. Break the crates,
build the switch, cross the
bridge, and complete the glass
sculpture. Note: This must be
done in Free Play mode.
Green Fingers: In the room
where you first use your power
to grow plants, there is a ledge
above the big plant thing. There
are iron bars blocking the left
passage of this ledge. Blow it
open, and use Robin in the
Attract suit to build a truck
with a cake in the back. Bake
the cake, and the Power Brick
will appear. Note: This must be
done in Free Play mode.

No money needed
Start to create a new scenario
in the editor. After you go
through making all of the
desired settings, click the "No
Cash" option then set your
objective to 500 people in your
park. After that, you will not
have to worry about your cash
limit.
More money
This trick only works when you
make your own scenario. Pick
the things you want invented in
the scenario and go to the next
step. Build the landscape for
the park. When you are done,
close the menu that makes you
chose the size and other
attributes. Open up the scenery
menu and build pyramids all
over the park. Note: Do not put
the pyramids over the park
borders. Then, finish the rest
yourself. When you play the
scenario, you will get more
money by doing nothing.
When building a track ride,
build a fountain on the same
land as the land you are about
to build on. Then, after creating
a piece of track (and
demolishing the fountain), you
can actually be paid anywhere
from $126 to $1,600, depending
on how many fountains you
build (and destroy) with one
piece of track, and you get that
part of the ride free. The Single
Jet Fountain works best.
When you have a scenario and
"Six Flags Theming", take the
farthest-most right Ornamental
Structure and place many of
them in a long straight line.
Next, go to Compact Inverted
Roller Coaster and build straight
track where you have placed
the scenery. When you do this,

Rides that guests love
Build a monorail or ski lift and
many people will ride it. The
monorail is recommended, as
the ski lift can only hold two
people at a time and many
people will leave the line. If
possible, increase price of
monorail to a reasonably high
amount.
Create a shuttle loop and make
it as high as it can go. Launch it
at full speed and guests will
love it.
Guests really love shuttle loops
that go as slow as possible and
give the most hang time. They
are cheaper then big shuttle
loops. Shuttle loops also do not
have to go out and then back
over the same track. Tracks
that loop around and back are
safer to build and can bring in
just as much money.
Guests never leave
Put a "No Entry" sign by the
entrance, facing away from the
entrance. Guests can still come
in, but will not leave. Note: This
may cause your park rating to
decrease, because many guests
will be "lost" and want to go
home.
Save maintenance costs
Charge 10 cents for all
bathrooms and they can sustain
themselves without reducing
the favor of your park.
Extra building space
Build a ride or attraction such
as a maze. You can now build
on top of that with smaller
rides (for example, bumper
cars).
Select height placement
When placing any object, select
where you want to put it,
however before you click, hold
[Shift] and move the mouse up
or down. Click when you have
the preferred height.
Change operating options
without losing any guests that
are queuing
Click on a ride, pause game
play, close the ride, then go to
"Operating Options". Change
the operating mode for the
ride, then open the ride.
Entertainerland
Entertainerland is a place
where you can put all of your
Entertainers. Guests can enter
and leave, but Entertainers
cannot. First, make a path.
Then, make a chairlift with two
entrances and two exits. One
entrance and one exit must
connect to the path that you
built. Call the chairlift
"Entertainerland". Next to the
other entrance and exit, make
an area of path and put all of
your Entertainers there. If
desired, you can build a fence
around it. Guests can come in
or out through the chairlift, but
Entertainers do not go on rides.
Pop a balloon
Build a few Balloon Stands. The
more stands there are, the
more balloons. Wait for a
balloon to float into the air.
Click on it, and it should pop.
Sometimes the balloons will not
pop at first; keep clicking until
they do. Another way is to
make one puddle of water.
Place a person with a balloon in
it. The balloon will go up into
the air.

Clapping guests
Before you complete a mission
go to a location that has a lot of
guests. When the mission is
over they will all start to clap.
Trap guests
Buy construction rights outside
of your land and immediately
adjacent. Build a path in the air
over that piece of land, and
then lead it downwards to a
main path in your park. Leave
the path building window up.
When lots of people are on the
path outside your park limits,
delete the path that they are
walking on. They will fall onto
the ground outside your park
and will be stuck on one square
of land. Note: Do not pick them
up if you wish them to stay
there.
Angry guests
Click on a guest and leave it on
for a long time. He will get very
angry.
Keep guests in park
To keep all your guests in your
park, put a no entry sign at the
entrance turned around so they
cannot exit. After getting the
required number of guests in
your park, raise the land right
before the exit/entrance to the
park. Also, go to the entrance
of your park and build a bridge.
Then, make a hole under the
bridge so the people will not
get out.
Keep ride's popularity
To keep a scary ride's

Click on construction, delete
everything until the end of the
first loop, and make a flat
piece. Then, add an on-ride
photo section. Make it go up
and add another loop. Next,
make it go at the highest angle
and click on the short turn at
the top. Build about four to six
of these and set the launch
speed at 50 to 58 mph. This
should make you over $2000 an
hour and barely costs any
money or time.
Better shop and stall
placement
Put shops and stalls near the
rear of the park, not at the
entrance. Once tired and hungry
guests have walked all the way
to the back, they will be more
than willing to pay higher prices
for snacks.
Balloon display
If you accomplish the mission
on the level that you are on,
and if you have a balloon stall,
when your guests clap they will
all drop their balloons and have
to buy another one.
Cleaning paths
Simply place a new pathway
over a dirty path to quickly
clean it. To quickly clean your
park without using more money
to replace the path that is
dirty, select one of your
handymen. Even though it
might not be as fast as just
replacing the path, drop them
wherever there are empty cans
and vomit piles. This also works
for emptying the garbage.
Cleaner park
Place handymen outside roller
coaster exits. Click on the
handymen and the press the
small blue footprints. Click the
area you want them to stay in.
This makes for a much cleaner
park.
Increase park rating
Set your research to just roller
coasters until you receive a
steel or inverted steel coaster.
Build a lot of power launched
mode rolle rcoasters( such as
the Shuttle Loop). This should
increase your park rating and
guest numbers. If you set the
advertisements all at four
weeks your money, park rating,
and guests will all increase.
Easy money
Open a ride and as soon as it is
full, double click on close to get
the money the guests paid for
the ride.
When your park has enough
money to afford all of
advertisement campaigns, put
all of them on. Then, hike the
entry price to $50. Crowds will
come swarming in because of
the advertisements and will pay
$50 to enter. This will result in
quick and easy money.
When in Dynamic Dunes go to
the Dynamic Blaster roller
coaster. Set the price to t $3,
wait until you get a very long
line, then hike the price up to
about $10. Every person in that
line will have to pay $10 to
ride. Note: Using a higher price
may cause everyone to leave
the line.
Build a roller coaster with a
very long waiting line and open
it with a very cheap price. Wait
until you notice that the ride is
full. While people are waiting to
ride immediately change the
price to the highest to force
them to pay. Note: People that
do not have money will not pay
and will leave the park.
Build the Go Kart ride and
create a very long waiting path.
Make sure the price is free.
Advertise your new ride. When
you have a huge line, increase
the price, but keep it under $
10. Everybody who can afford it
will pay that much. When the
line dies down, lower the price
back to free, and repeat.
Increase your sale of food and
drinks by putting the shops on
the exit portion of a ride.
However, you must keep the
prices at a reasonable price.
You can also put the rest rooms
there, and put a charge to use
them.
Build any ride which is popular
(for example, Shuttle Loop) and
make a very long queue. When
the queue is full, raise the land
directly outside the entrance,
blocking it. Then, raise the
entrance fee to that ride very
high, and to get out , the people
have to pay to go on the ride to
exit.
An easy way to get money very
quickly is to open a roller
coaster that you would price
very high. Then, wait for the
people to pay for the ride and
get on. Pause game play, close
the ride, open the ride, and the
people that paid for the ride
will get off very quickly so that
more people can get on.
Build a souvenir shop and set
the umbrella price to $20 and
people will buy it when it rains.
Once the monorail is available
to build, make a plot of land
with a few paths linked
together. Do not link these
paths to any other path. Make
sure this is enough to sustain
about 20 to 40 guests. Build
many rides and shops in this
space that you do not have
elsewhere in your park; perhaps
repeat some of the rides people
love (such as slides and shuttle
loops). Hire a mechanic and a
handyman (and an entertainer
and a security guard if desired).
It also helps to add some
scenery. Then, build your
monorail linking this secluded
patch of land to your main
park. Make sure the price of the
monorail is reasonable, or you
will be dealing with some
unused rides. Guests will pay to
get to your lovely patch of land,
and they will have to pay to get
out.
Torture guests
Create an incredibly long path
that leads to nowhere. When
you have lots of guests walking
on the path, delete a square at
the beginning so that if they try
to go back they will find
themselves trapped. They will
be forced to do nothing but
walk back and forth endlessly.
Wait until they are exhausted
and have to go to the
bathroom. When they cannot
stand it anymore, add a couple
of benches, one bathroom, and
one restaurant. Watch how
desperate they are to eat, sit,
and use the bathroom. When
they have used the bathroom
and eaten and rested, delete
the benches, restaurant, and
bathroom. Watch them suffer
all over again. Repeat every so
often. For added fun, have
paths lead to each other
haphazardly, so they do not
know where they are going.
Make the paths cover the entire
park area. The guests will be
thoroughly confused, tired, and
miserable. Open up a single
bathroom at the end of a long,
winding, zigzag path after
several guests are running
around holding their stomachs.
Wait until they are all hunched
over with misery and fatigue,
then suddenly put up a cotton
candy or popcorn stand (but do
not wait so long that you no
longer have any funds
remaining). Suddenly, you will
see all the guests walking
around with cotton candy and
popcorn.
During the game you may
encounter objectives that
require you to have a certain
amount of guests. Use the
following trick to have fun
during the process and torture
your guests. To keep your
guests, make a hole at the
"Exit" station. All of your guests
will fall into the hole and have
no other option but to stay in
your park. However, this will
make your guests unhappy,
hungry, etc.
Raise a small area of land and
put water all around it. Find the
sickest guest in your park put
them, on the land, and fill it up
with entertainers.
Killing guests
Build a roller coaster or a whoa
belly tower. With the roller
coaster, make it a power launch
mode and make it fly off the
track. Do not test it, just open.
With the tower, build it up
approximately three times and
put it on full speed. Do not test
it and people will fly off as they
are on it.
Make a shuttle loop roller
coaster, have it power
launched, with a speed of 60
mph.
Create a large square of road.
When guests walk on it, they
will become stuck. When
nobody is on a smaller square,
delete it. When you have one or
two of three squares remaining,
build water on them to drown
all the guests.
To score a fast kill on a guest,
click on desired victim, then
select the pick up tool
(resembles tweezers). Move and
drop the guest in water.
Put some water in front of an
exit to a ride. All people that
get on the ride will drown.
Put water or a pit directly under
the exit so people fall straight
it and die or get trapped. It is
an easy way to keep people in
your park.
Dig a large hole and place a
large amount of guests in it.
Raise the water level to watch a
mass drowning of guests.
Build a path that leads to an
elevated platform or bridge.
The platform or bridge should
be several squares all around.
Once you have lured a group of
guests onto the platform,
delete the path(s) that led
them there to trap them.
Underneath the platform,
create a massive body of water
(or you can create the large
body of water first, then build a
platform over it.). Delete the
platform and everyone will fall
into the water.
Make a water slide. At any
point that you can, have a
sheer drop, normal drop, sheer
drop, and normal drop again.
Make sure it is an open track,
and not a tube track. After the
first drop, it will fly off the
track and crash.
Build the shuttle loop roller
coaster and change the speed
to 60 mph to send the people
on the ride soaring through the
air and then crashing to the
ground.
Build the shuttle loop roller
coaster and increase the speed
to 60 mph. The coaster will
launch off the track.
Research until you get the Steel
Coaster or Corkscrew Coaster.
Build a station, and then
behind it, build a sheer incline
with a chain. Put a sheer incline
at the other end of the station
to make the coaster appear to
come back down. Set the mode
to reverse-incline and open it.
The coaster will go backwards
up, and when it gets to the last
track it will continue to be
pushed by the chain and be
forced over the edge of the last
track.
To kill guests on any roller
coaster, make it go high up,
drop down, then up again.
When it goes up again, do not
build a crank. End the roller
coaster. Make it so there are as
many trains as possible, but
with only one car. When the
roller coaster goes down, it will
not make it up the hill, and will
slam into the next car. It will
then explode, killing the guests.

Kandungan bahan dan cara memasak
Rendang adalah masakan yang
mengandung bumbu rempah yang
kaya. Selain bahan dasar daging,
rendang menggunakan santan kelapa
( karambia), dan campuran dari
berbagai bumbu khas yang
dihaluskan di antaranya cabai (lado),
serai , lengkuas , kunyit , jahe , bawang
putih, bawang merah dan aneka
bumbu lainnya yang biasanya disebut
sebagai pemasak . Keunikan rendang
adalah penggunaan bumbu-bumbu
alami, yang bersifat antiseptik dan
membunuh bakteri patogen sehingga
bersifat sebagai bahan pengawet
alami. Bawang putih, bawang merah,
jahe, dan lengkuas diketahui memiliki
aktivitas antimikroba yang kuat. [2]
Tidak mengherankan jika rendang
dapat disimpan satu minggu hingga
empat minggu.
Proses memasak rendang asli dapat
menghabiskan waktu berjam-jam
(biasanya sekitar empat jam), karena
itulah memasak rendang memerlukan
waktu dan kesabaran. [3] Potongan
daging dimasak bersama bumbu dan
santan dalam panas api yang tepat,
diaduk pelan-pelan hingga santan
dan bumbu terserap daging. [4]
Setelah mendidih, apinya dikecilkan
dan terus diaduk hingga santan
mengental dan menjadi kering.
Memasak rendang harus sabar dan
telaten ditunggui, senantiasa dengan
hati-hati dibolak-balik agar santan
mengering dan bumbu terserap
sempurna, tanpa menghanguskan
atau menghancurkan daging. Proses
memasak ini dikenal dalam seni
kuliner modern dengan istilah
'karamelisasi'. Karena menggunakan
banyak jenis bumbu, rendang dikenal
memiliki citarasa yang kompleks dan
unik.

lambang "Alim Ulama" yang
pedas, tegas untuk mengajarkan
syariat agama
4. Pemasak (bumbu), merupakan
lambang dari keseluruhan
masyarakat Minangkabau.
Dalam tradisi Minangkabau, rendang
adalah hidangan yang wajib disajikan
dalam setiap perhelatan istimewa,
seperti berbagai upacara adat
Minangkabau , kenduri, atau

Dalam tradisi Melayu, baik di Riau,
Jambi, Medan atau Semenanjung
Malaya , rendang adalah hidangan
istimewa yang dihidangkan dalam
kenduri khitanan, ulang tahun,
pernikahan , barzanji , atau perhelatan
keagamaan, seperti Idul Fitri dan Idul
Qurban.

Sejarah
Rumah Makan Padang
mempopulerkan rendang ke seluruh
penjuru Nusantara.
Asal-usul rendang ditelusuri berasal
dari Sumatera, khususnya
Minangkabau. Bagi masyarakat
Minang, rendang sudah ada sejak
dahulu dan telah menjadi masakan
tradisi yang dihidangkan dalam
berbagai acara adat dan hidangan
keseharian. Sebagai masakan tradisi,
rendang diduga telah lahir sejak
orang Minang menggelar acara adat
pertamanya. Kemudian seni
memasak ini berkembang ke kawasan
serantau berbudaya Melayu lainnya;
mulai dari Mandailing, Riau, Jambi,
hingga ke negeri seberang di Negeri
Sembilan yang banyak dihuni
perantau asal Minangkabau. Karena
itulah rendang dikenal luas baik di
Sumatera dan Semenanjung Malaya.
Sejarawan Universitas Andalas, Prof.
Dr. Gusti Asnan menduga, rendang
telah menjadi masakan yang tersebar
luas sejak orang Minang mulai
merantau dan berlayar ke Malaka
untuk berdagang pada awal abad
ke-16. “Karena perjalanan melewati
sungai dan memakan waktu lama,
rendang mungkin menjadi pilihan
tepat saat itu sebagai bekal.” [6] Hal
ini karena rendang kering sangat
awet, tahan disimpan hingga
berbulan lamanya, sehingga tepat
dijadikan bekal kala merantau atau
dalam perjalanan niaga.
Rendang juga disebut dalam
kesusastraan Melayu klasik seperti
Hikayat Amir Hamzah yang
membuktikan bahwa rendang sudah
dikenal dalam seni masakan Melayu
sejak 1550-an (pertengahan abad
ke-16).

Rendang kian termahsyur dan
tersebar luas jauh melampaui wilayah
aslinya berkat budaya merantau suku
Minangkabau. Orang Minang yang
pergi merantau selain bekerja
sebagai pegawai atau berniaga,
banyak di antara mereka
berwirausaha membuka Rumah
Makan Padang di seantero Nusantara,
bahkan meluas ke negara tetangga
hingga Eropa dan Amerika. Rumah
makan inilah yang memperkenalkan
rendang serta hidangan Minangkabau
lainnya secara meluas.

Jenis
Rendang disajikan bersama daun
singkong, telur dadar, dan kuah gulai
dalam sajian Nasi Ramas Padang.
Dalam memasak daging berbumbu
dalam kuah santan, jika ditinjau dari
kandungan cairan santan , sebenarnya
terdapat tiga tingkat tahapan, mulai
dari yang terbasah berkuah hingga
yang terkering: Gulai — Kalio —
Rendang. [9] Dari pengertian ini
rendang sejati adalah rendang yang
paling rendah kandungan cairannya.
Akan tetapi secara umum dikenal ada
dua macam jenis rendang: rendang
kering dan basah.
Rendang kering
Rendang kering adalah rendang sejati
dalam tradisi memasak Minang.
Rendang ini dimasak dalam waktu
berjam-jam lamanya hingga santan
mengering dan bumbu terserap
sempurna. Rendang kering
dihidangkan untuk perhelatan
istimewa, seperti upacara adat,
kenduri, atau menyambut tamu
kehormatan. Rendang kering
biasanya berwarna lebih gelap agak
coklat kehitaman. Jika dimasak
dengan tepat, rendang kering dapat
tahan disimpan dalam suhu ruangan
selama tiga sampai empat minggu,
bahkan dapat bertahan hingga lebih
dari sebulan jika disimpan di kulkas,
dan enam bulan jika dibekukan.
Beberapa kalangan berpendapat
bahwa citarasa rendang asli Minang
adalah yang paling lezat dan tiada
dua — jauh berbeda dengan rendang
di sejumlah kawasan Melayu lainnya.

Rendang basah atau Kalio
Rendang di Belanda adalah kalio yang
masih basah berkuah.
Rendang basah, atau lebih tepatnya
disebut kalio, adalah rendang yang
dimasak dalam waktu yang lebih
singkat, santan belum begitu
mengering sempurna, dan dalam
suhu ruangan hanya dapat bertahan
dalam waktu kurang dari satu
minggu. Rendang basah berwarna
coklat terang keemasan dan lebih
pucat.
Rendang juga dikenal di negara
tetangga, seperti Malaysia dan
Singapura . Rendang yang ditemukan
di Malaysia lebih mirip kalio,
berwarna lebih pucat dan basah
dengan citarasa yang tidak begitu
kuat. Rendang Malaysia yang disebut
rendang kelantan dan rendang negeri
sembilan memiliki perbedaan dengan
rendang Indonesia. Proses memasak
rendang di Malaysia, lebih singkat
dan melakukan pengentalan bumbu
dengan dicampur kerisik (kelapa
parut yang disangrai), bukan dengan
proses pemasakan dengan api kecil
dalam waktu yang lama. Karena
keterkaitan sejarah melalui
kolonialisasi, rendang juga dapat
ditemukan di Belanda, juga dalam
bentuk kalio, tetapi umumnya
disajikan sebagai salah satu bagian
dari lauk-pauk Rijsttafel .

Variasi
Rendang hati sapi
Rendang umumnya menggunakan
daging sapi, tetapi dikenal pula
berbagai jenis bahan daging lainnya
yang dimasak sesuai bumbu dan cara
membuat rendang. Variasi rendang

dagiang): rendang daging sapi,
kerbau, kambing atau domba.
Adalah jenis rendang yang
paling lazim ditemukan.

Pisang adalah nama umum yang
diberikan pada tumbuhan terna
raksasa berdaun besar memanjang
dari suku Musaceae. Beberapa
jenisnya ( Musa acuminata , M.
balbisiana , dan M. ×paradisiaca )
menghasilkan buah konsumsi yang
dinamakan sama. Buah ini tersusun
dalam tandan dengan kelompok-
kelompok tersusun menjari, yang
disebut sisir . Hampir semua buah
pisang memiliki kulit berwarna kuning
ketika matang, meskipun ada
beberapa yang berwarna jingga,
merah, hijau, ungu, atau bahkan
hampir hitam. Buah pisang sebagai
bahan pangan merupakan sumber
energi (karbohidrat ) dan mineral,
terutama kalium .
Perlu disadari, istilah "pisang" juga
dipakai untuk sejumlah jenis yang
tidak menghasilkan buah konsumsi,
seperti pisang abaka , pisang hias,
dan pisang kipas. Artikel ini hanya
membahas pisang penghasil buah
konsumsi serta kerabatnya yang
berkaitan.
Keanekaragaman pisang
Pusat keragaman utama pisang
terletak di daerah Malesia (Asia
Tenggara, Papua dan Australia
tropika). Pusat keragaman minor juga
terdapat di Afrika tropis. Tumbuhan
ini menyukai iklim tropis panas dan
lembap, terutama di dataran rendah.
Di daerah dengan hujan merata
sepanjang tahun, produksi pisang
dapat berlangsung tanpa mengenal
musim. Indonesia , Kepulauan Pasifik ,
negara-negara Amerika Tengah , dan
Brasil dikenal sebagai negara utama
pengekspor pisang. Masyarakat di
negara-negara Afrika dan Amerika
Latin dikenal sangat tinggi
mengonsumsi pisang setiap
tahunnya.
Teori mengenai keragaman genetik
pisang budidaya
Pisang budidaya pada masa sekarang
dianggap merupakan keturunan dari
Musa acuminata yang diploid dan
tumbuh liar. Genom yang
disumbangkan diberi simbol A.
Persilangan alami dengan Musa
balbisiana memasukkan genom
baru, disebut B, dan menyebabkan
bervariasinya jenis-jenis pisang.
Pengaruh genom B terutama terlihat
pada kandungan tepung pada buah
yang lebih tinggi. Secara umum,
genom A menyumbang karakter ke
arah buah meja (banana ), sementara
genom B ke arah buah pisang olah/
masak ( plantain). Hibrida M.
acuminata dengan M. balbisiana ini
dikenal sebagai M. ×paradisiaca .
Khusus untuk Kelompok AAB, nama
Musa sapientum pernah digunakan.
Mengikuti anjuran Simmonds dan
Shepherd yang karyanya diterbitkan
pada tahun 1955, klasifikasi pisang
budidaya sekarang menggunakan
nama-nama kombinasi genom ini
sebagai nama kelompok budidaya
( cultivar group ). Sebagai contoh,
untuk pisang Cavendish, disebut
sebagai Musa (AAA group Dessert
subgroup) 'Cavendish'. Di bawah
kelompok masih dimungkinkan
pembagian dalam anak-kelompok

Budidaya
Pisang secara tradisional tidak
dibudidayakan secara intensif. Hanya
sedikit yang dibudidayakan secara
intensif dan besar-besaran dalam
perkebunan monokultur, seperti
'Gros Michel' dan 'Cavendish'. Jenis-
jenis lain biasanya ditanam
berkelompok di pekarangan, tepi-tepi
lahan tanaman lain, serta tepi
sungai.
Hama dan penyakit
Perbanyakan secara vegetatif
membuat pisang amat mudah
terkena serangan pengganggu, karena
sempitnya keragaman genetik. Suatu
perkebunan yang terkena penyakit
dapat menularkan dengan singkat ke
perkebunan tetangganya.

Penggunaan
Pisang bakar, khas dari Sumatera
Barat .
Berdasarkan cara konsumsi buahnya,
pisang dikelompokkan dalam dua
golongan, yaitu pisang meja ( dessert
banana ) dan pisang olah (plantain ,
cooking banana ). Pisang meja
dikonsumsi dalam bentuk segar
setelah buah matang, seperti pisang
ambon, susu, raja, seribu, dan
sunripe. Pisang olahan dikonsumsi
setelah digoreng, direbus, dibakar,
atau dikolak, seperti pisang kepok,
siam, kapas, tanduk, dan uli.
Buah pisang diolah menjadi berbagai
produk, seperti sale, kue , ataupun
arak (di Amerika Latin).
Selain memberikan kontribusi gizi
lebih tinggi daripada apel, pisang
juga dapat menyediakan cadangan
energi dengan cepat bila dibutuhkan.
Termasuk ketika otak mengalami
keletihan. Beragam jenis makanan
ringan dari pisang yang relatif
populer antara lain Kripik Pisang asal
Lampung, Sale pisang(Bandung),
Pisang Molen (Bogor), dan epe
(Makassar).
Pisang mempunyai kandungan gizi
sangat baik, antara lain menyediakan
energi cukup tinggi dibandingkan
dengan buah-buahan lain. Pisang
kaya mineral seperti kalium,
magnesium, fosfor, besi, dan
kalsium. Pisang juga mengandung
vitamin, yaitu C, B kompleks, B6, dan
serotonin yang aktif sebagai
neurotransmitter dalam kelancaran
fungsi otak.

Energi
Nilai energi pisang sekitar 136 kalori
untuk setiap 100 gram, yang secara
keseluruhan berasal dari karbohidrat.
Nilai energi pisang dua kali lipat lebih
tinggi daripada apel. Apel dengan
berat sama (100 gram) hanya
mengandung 54 kalori.
Karbohidrat pisang menyediakan
energi sedikit lebih lambat
dibandingkan dengan gula pasir dan
sirup, tetapi lebih cepat dari nasi,
biskuit, dan sejenis roti. Oleh sebab
itu, banyak atlet saat jeda atau
istirahat mengonsumsi pisang sebagai
cadangan energi.
Kandungan energi pisang merupakan
energi instan, yang mudah tersedia
dalam waktu singkat, sehingga
bermanfaat dalam menyediakan
kebutuhan kalori sesaat. Karbohidrat
pisang merupakan karbohidrat
kompleks tingkat sedang dan tersedia
secara bertahap, sehingga dapat
menyediakan energi dalam waktu
tidak terlalu cepat. Karbohidrat
pisang merupakan cadangan energi
yang sangat baik digunakan dan
dapat secara cepat tersedia bagi
tubuh.
Gula pisang merupakan gula buah,
yaitu terdiri dari fruktosa yang
mempunyai indek glikemik lebih
rendah dibandingkan dengan glukosa,
sehingga cukup baik sebagai
penyimpan energi karena sedikit
lebih lambat dimetabolisme. Sehabis
bekerja keras atau berpikir, selalu
timbul rasa kantuk. Keadaan ini
merupakan tanda-tanda otak
kekurangan energi, sehingga aktivitas
secara biologis juga menurun.
Untuk melakukan aktivitasnya, otak
memerlukan energi berupa glukosa.
Glukosa darah sangat vital bagi otak
untuk dapat berfungsi dengan baik,
antara lain diekspresikan dalam
kemampuan daya ingat. Glukosa
tersebut terutama diperoleh dari
sirkulasi darah otak karena glikogen
sebagai cadangan glukosa sangat
terbatas keberadaannya.
Glukosa darah terutama didapat dari
asupan makanan sumber karbohidrat.
Pisang adalah alternatif terbaik untuk
menyediakan energi di saat-saat
istirahat atau jeda, pada waktu otak
sangat membutuhkan energi yang
cepat tersedia untuk aktivitas
biologis.
Namun, kandungan protein dan
lemak pisang ternyata kurang bagus
dan sangat rendah, yaitu hanya 2,3
persen dan 0,13 persen. Meski
demikian, kandungan lemak dan
protein pisang masih lebih tinggi dari
apel, yang hanya 0,3 persen. Karena
itu, tidak perlu takut kegemukan
walau mengonsumsi pisang dalam
jumlah banyak.

Mineral
Pisang kaya mineral seperti kalium,
magnesium, fosfor, kalsium, dan
besi. Bila dibandingkan dengan jenis
makanan nabati lain, mineral pisang,
khususnya besi, hampir seluruhnya
(100 persen) dapat diserap tubuh.
Berdasarkan berat kering, kadar besi
pisang mencapai 2 miligram per 100
gram dan seng 0,8 mg. Bandingkan
dengan apel, yang hanya
mengandung 0,2 mg besi dan 0,1 mg
seng untuk berat 100 gram.
Kandungan vitaminnya sangat tinggi,
terutama provitamin A, yaitu
betakaroten, sebesar 45 mg per 100
gram berat kering, sedangkan pada
apel hanya 15 mg. Pisang juga
mengandung vitamin B, yaitu tiamin ,
riboflavin , niasin , dan vitamin B6
(piridoxin).
Kandungan vitamin B6 pisang cukup
tinggi, yaitu sebesar 0,5 mg per 100
gram. Selain berfungsi sebagai
koenzim untuk beberapa reaksi
dalam metabolisme, vitamin B6
berperan dalam sintetis dan
metabolisme protein, khususnya
serotonin. Serotonin diyakini
berperan aktif sebagai
neurotransmiter dalam kelancaran
fungsi otak.
Vitamin B6 juga berperan dalam
metabolisme energi yang berasal dari
karbohidrat. Peran vitamin B6 ini
jelas mendukung ketersediaan energi
